Joy from Mi to You

Joy from Mi to You

So wow, 2016 – What a year. I feel like I have been hit in the face, I’m dumbstruck! I contemplate how I can help. I try to keep up to date on current events. Make phone calls, sign petitions, walk in protest. Ready with my warrior paint on, I stand ready to raise my fist. Mostly though, I try to love a little deeper, listen a little better, live a little more.

Fall

I felt it. It hit me like a smack in the face. Cold air. Ran up my legs as I let the cat out. Lucky for slippers, oatmeal in the rice cooker and a hot pot of coffee.

A New Year

A New Year

It’s winter, cold, grey and quiet. The doors and windows are closed, the heater is on, the air is dry. My skin soaks up moisture like a dessert longs for the rain. My stubby hands are starting to resemble my mother’s longer, bonier, wrinklier versions.

Holiday season!

Holiday season!

Yes, it’s time to cram every little bit of every little bit into one long wonderfully ridiculously crazy month! See all your friends, see all your family’s extended family see all your family friends, see all your coworkers, see all their significant others, see all your coworkers significant others friends. Help others in need, help with food drives, make money for charities by carolling in your neighbourhood, busking at the market, wrapping presents at the mall, buying goats and school supplies and beds and chickens for so many without.
